Biography
Kumud Pant (born 13 May 1971) is a Nepali-British actor, model, director, film producer, entrepreneur, and social worker who has built a career spanning more than two decades in both the Nepali and international entertainment industries. He is widely recognized for his contributions to cinema as well as his dedication to humanitarian and community work. Pant follows a vegetarian lifestyle and strongly believes in giving back to society, donating 10% of his earnings to social work and community welfare initiatives. Pant was born in the Dang district of Nepal, a beautiful Himalayan country famous for the majestic Himalayas and Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth. He was born and raised in the small rural village of Teraute in Dang district, where he spent his early childhood surrounded by nature and traditional village life. Pant comes from a large academic and socially active family. His father, Tika Dutta Pant, was a respected teacher at Rajhena High School in Dang, where he also taught his son during his school years. His father later passed away. Pant brought his mother, Bidhyabati Pant, to the United Kingdom so that he could personally take care of her. His mother is also a teacher and the founder of Teraute Primary School in Dang, Nepal. Her dedication to education and community development had a strong influence on Pant’s upbringing and values. Pant comes from a family of twelve members, including his parents, two brothers, and eight sisters. In his personal life, In his personal life, Pant married in 2018; however, the marriage ended within the same year. He has no children and is currently single. Pant completed his school education at Rajhena High School in Dang and later pursued higher education at Mahendra Multiple Campus, Dang. From an early age, he developed a strong interest in acting and modeling. He began his professional journey in 1995 with his first modelling assignment for the Nepali magazine Satya Katha. He later made his film debut in the movie Janma Janma, appearing in a supporting role. During the early stage of his career, he worked in films, television series, commercials, and music videos across Nepal. In 1998, Pant migrated to the United Kingdom to pursue broader opportunities while continuing his artistic career. In 2004, he completed a diploma course in Computer Maintenance from The Woolwich College in South East London. In the same year, he won the Face of 2004 competition in Plumstead, London, receiving a reward of £500. Pant has appeared in more than 100 projects including feature films, short films, and productions connected with Hollywood, Bollywood, and Kollywood industries. His dream project is the film Kumude Hidyo Hero Banna, which represents an important milestone in his filmmaking journey. Pant has also maintained a disciplined lifestyle focused on health and fitness. He has been regularly exercising and going to the gym since the age of 16. Although he remained healthy for many years, he faced health challenges related to an autoimmune condition beginning in 2023, from which he is gradually recovering. Beyond cinema, Pant has been involved in social work since the age of 16 in Nepal. Since around 2020, while living in the United Kingdom, he has become more internationally active in humanitarian and community initiatives.
