
Nuri Ergün
Biography
Osman Nuri Ergün (20 March 1928, Çayeli , Rize - 24 August 2010) Turkish director and actor. He completed his education up to high school in Çayeli . He moved to Istanbul with his family due to his father's transfer. He studied at Taksim Atatürk High School and Maritime College respectively. After graduating from high school, he started his acting career in the Children's Department of Istanbul City Theater. He started working as a voice assistant in the 1950s. He assisted names such as Vedat Örfi Bengü , Lütfi Ömer Akad and Kani Kıpçak. Ergün, who later started working at Kemal Film , worked with Osman F. Seden . The film İzmir Ateşler İçinde, which he directed in 1959 , was banned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1964, he directed the film Mor Defter, starring Yılmaz Güney . He directed many films until 1979. Afterwards, he played in Istanbul City Theaters until his retirement in 1994. His funeral was held in Aşiyan Cemetery .
